Dear students,
registration for all examinations in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering/Environmental Technology and Resource Management in the summer semester 2023 is possible in FlexNow from 15.05.2023 until 15.07.2023. Registration for the special date on 02.06.2023 already ends on 19.05.2023.
For examinations with preliminary examinations (PVL), an extended registration period applies until 14 days before the examination date. In justified exceptional cases, registration can also be carried out by the Examination Office within this period. To do so, please send an e-mail with details of the examination(s) to pruefungsamt-bi@rub.de. Please only use your RUB email address for communication with the Examinations Office, otherwise your request cannot be assigned without doubt.
Cancellations of examinations are possible in the summer semester 2023 up to 7 days before the examination date. Withdrawals from examinations accompanying lectures are generally not possible.
The free attempt rule has been abolished.
Another important recommendation: Every time you register for or deregister from an examination, you will receive an automated confirmation e-mail from FlexNow. Please check this carefully and also regularly check your data sheet in FlexNow.

The following general rules apply to exam viewings while the RUB is operating under Covid 19 conditions:
Applications for theses can be submitted by e-mail to pruefungsamt-bi@rub.de, stating the name of the supervising chair. The possibility of issuing the topic, which can also be done by e-mail if necessary, must be clarified with the supervising Chair. Please use only your RUB email address for communication with the Examination Office. Alternatively, you can also receive the application for the issue of a thesis topic during the office hours of the Examinations Office.
The submission of theses has been newly regulated by the RUB (AB 1556). As soon as the completed and signed application has been returned to the Examinations Office, you will receive an e-mail from the Examinations Office on how to proceed:
Please log in to the electronic mailbox for theses of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum with your RUB-LoginID and your corresponding password:
https://submit-exam.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/course/view.php?id=7
Then please register with Civil and Environmental Engineering using the following access code:
BUI_xxxxxxxxx
You only need this access code once for enrolment. Afterwards, the course will appear under "My courses" and you can enter this course directly from now on when you log in again later on Submit-Exam.
A tip from the examination office: enrol in this course immediately, you will save yourself a lot of stress on the submission day.
The submission of theses has been newly regulated by the RUB (AB 1556).
Log in to https://submit-exam.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/course/view.php?id=7 (you received the access data for the course "Civil and Environmental Engineering" when registering the thesis through the Examination Office) and select the corresponding course under my courses.
You can now upload the thesis with (handwritten) signed declaration of independence in pdf format. Name the pdf file (Bachelor thesis last name, first name or Master thesis last name, first name) and do not forget to press the "Submit button". You will then receive an email with the time stamp. Please keep this mail until the Examination Office has confirmed that you have handed in your thesis in due form and time.
It is no longer permissible to hand it in to the chairs/supervisors.
Ongoing theses are to be sent as a pdf document by e-mail to pruefungsamt-bi@rub.de and the supervising chair. With the consent of the thesis supervisor, printed copies may be waived.
Thesis extensions may be requested informally by emailing pruefungsamt-bi@rub.de. Please use only your RUB e-mail address for communication with the examination office.
