Prof. König goes Bundestag

15.01.2020

Prof. Dr-Ing. Markus König was invited by the Committee on Building, Housing, Urban Development and Local Government as a renowned expert in the field of digitisation in the building sector for a session in the Bundestag on Wednesday, 15 January 2020.

The subject of the discussion will be the proposal of both parliamentary groups, CDU/CSU and SPD, entitled "Digitalisation of Planning and Construction" and another request of the FDP demanding an "update for housing construction". Eight experts from the construction science and industry will be at the disposal of the delegates for questions and statements.

The Building Information Modeling (BIM) method will be discussed in the session. BIM is based on computer-assisted models and thus enables new planning and construction processes simply because of the possibility of simultaneous access by those involved and the transparent flow of information. The expertise of Prof. Dr-Ing. Markus König, head of the Chair of Computing in Engineering, can be especially drawn upon in this area.

Interested visitors who would like to attend the meeting as listeners can register with the secretariat of the committee (e-mail: bauausschuss@bundestag.de) by Tuesday, 14 January, 12 pm, stating their first name, surname and date of birth. A personal document must be brought along for admission to the meeting.

Time: Wednesday, 15 January 2020, 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
Place: Berlin, Paul-Löbe-Haus, conference room 4,200
