TransferLab "Artificial Intelligence in Construction" in Bochum city centre

23.08.2022

VR Labor

From 22 August to 11 September 2022, the Chair of Computing in Engineering headed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Markus König, together with the BIMKIT project and the WORLDFACTORY Start-up Center, will provide information on the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in civil engineering and present various demonstrators live. Interested citizens can expect a poster exhibition and meet-the-scientist afternoons in addition to demonstrations in the Blue Square experience room at Ruhr-Universität Bochum.

In the TransferLab "Artificial Intelligence in Civil Engineering", the scientists of the Chair of Computing in Engineering (IIB) will show various demonstrators on the topics of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) live on 25 August 2022. In addition to this vivid insight into the BIM method and the use of AI in construction (e.g. the detection of construction machinery and fire protection elements or damage to concrete components), the Chair will provide information on current research approaches and future-proof technologies and invites interested visitors to exchange ideas afterwards. RUBy, the Chair of Computing in Engineering's robot dog, will be the guest of honour.

At the opening ceremony on 25 August 2022, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., in the Blue Square experience room at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, all interested parties are also invited to try out the demonstrators themselves and learn more about the exciting potential of AI for the construction industry.
