Tandem.MINT

The tandem language learning program offers STEM students of RUB an individual and subject-specific form of language training. In the exchange with a MINT tandem partner who speaks the target language as a native speaker or at a high-level, language skills can be expanded in a subject-related context and technical vocabulary can be acquired.

Participation in Tandem-MINT can be beneficial in preparing for a study-related stay abroad. In addition, students can practice working together in a multilingual, multicultural team - in this way, key competencies for the globalized working world can be acquired already during their studies.

Requirements are: Proficiency in the target language of at least level of B1 (CEFR) (for typologically distant languages: level A2) as well as proficiency in the primary language as a native speaker or on a comparably high level (at least C1).

Upon successful completion, students receive a certificate confirming their participation and the contents of the tandem. Alternatively, it is possible to receive a 3CP credit for participation through the ZFA.
