RuhrGeo-Day 2023

21.03.2023

Emscher GeoTag

On 28 March 2023, the 12th RuhrGeo Day will take place under the topic "Reconstruction of the Emscher System - Geotechnical Experiences" at the Ruhr University Bochum. Here you can find the programme and further details about the event.

The reconstruction of the Emscher system is one of the most important European infrastructure projects of the last two decades. Now that the work has been completed, the 12th RuhrGeo Day provides the appropriate platform to share the experience gained on the geotechnical work with the Emschergenossenschaft Lippeverband (EGLV).

In addition to a general presentation on the reconstruction of the Emscher system, there will be thematic blocks on the construction of the sewer and the deep shaft structures as well as on rehabilitation and new construction work on the dikes. Finally, participants can expect contributions on soil management and the ecological transformation of the water bodies.

The event will be accompanied by a geotechnical exhibition organised in cooperation with the Association of Consulting Engineers (VBI).

The RuhrGeo Day 2023 is jointly organised by:

  • Chair of Soil Mechanics, Foundation Engineering and Environmental Geotechnics, Ruhr University Bochum.
  • Chair of Geotechnics, Dortmund University of Technology
  • Department of Geotechnical Engineering, University of Duisburg Essen
  • Department of Geotechnical Engineering, Bergische Universität Wuppertal
