Sustainability Week

16.10.2023

Nachhaltigkeitswoche

From 16 to 20 October 2023, the Sustainability Week will take place at the Ruhr-University for the first time. The Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering is participating as part of an interactive sustainability market.

The Sustainability Week is intended to make visible how active the members of the Ruhr-University are in the area of sustainability. Each day of the week, a row of buildings presents its sustainability efforts.

The Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering invites interested parties to the interactive sustainability market on level 04 in IC (Marketplace, "green benches") on 16 October from 2-5 pm. There, visitors can expect around 25 exciting stations with demonstrators, exhibits and poster presentations on topics such as sustainable building forms (Chair for Resource Efficient Building), sustainable approaches in concrete construction (Chair for Building Materials), water as a central element of sustainability (Chair for Engineering Hydrology and Water Resources Management), Climate-neutral urban development and sustainable forms of mobility (Chair for Traffic Engineering and Management), the sewage treatment plant of the future (Chair of Urban Water Management and Environmental Engineering), the foundation of wind turbines on young open-cast mine tips (Chair for Foundation Engineering, Soil and Rock Mechanics) and the Faculty's participatory project reCYCL: ING.

In addition, guided tours of the environmental geotechnics and urban water management laboratories will be offered directly from the marketplace. Participation is possible without registration.
