On February 10, 2025, Ruhr-Universität Bochum will open its doors to prospective students. The engineering sciences invite visitors to the “ING Mile” from 10 a.m. and offer an exciting look at engineering studies with a variety of hands-on stations, information lectures and opportunities to exchange ideas with students.
“ING Mile”
When: 10 am - 4 pm
Where: Building IC and ID, Level 04
In addition to student projects such as the concrete canoe regatta, the highlights of the “ING Mile” include various hands-on stations - from moving robots, virtual reality in construction and water simulations to hovercrafts and materials experiments. The three engineering faculties of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering will be demonstrating the future fields and technical issues they are working on. In addition, students will be on hand to provide information about their degree courses and give an authentic insight into their day-to-day studies.
Information lecture “These are our engineering degree programs”
When: 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Where: IC 04/410
During the information lecture, prospective students will be given an overview of the Bachelor's degree courses offered by the Faculties of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering. They will find out why studying engineering at RUB is worthwhile and what attractive job prospects await them.

Update from 07.02.2025:
The information event “Inside RUB” planned for Monday, February 10, 2025, unfortunately has to be canceled. The reason for the cancellation is the announced warning strike in local public transport by Bogestra, which means that a large part of the bus and train connections are canceled and the campus can no longer be reached by public transport. Up-to-date information on a possible alternative date will be published on the Ruhr-Universität website in good time.
