The Project Office for Construction and Environment (PBU) offers students of the Faculty a comprehensive range of support in relation to scientific work techniques. Every year, the activities of the institution are summarized in a descriptive annual report. This can now be viewed here, along with a statement from Prof.'in Hafner, holder of the Institute for Resource-Efficient Building, who chairs the PBU.
"After an eventful year in 2024 and the efforts of recent years, I am pleased—together with the entire team of the Project Office for Construction and Environment (PBU)—to present the current annual report (link to be inserted). On behalf of the PBU leadership, I would like to thank the PBU team for their dedicated work, which has been consistently well received by the students. I would especially like to acknowledge the tireless commitment of Dr. Greassidis and thank Mr. Sahlmen for including the CE students in the program.
A total of 14 chairs from the faculty have taken advantage of the PBU's services.
The students involved came from five degree programs within the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Most of the work in 2024 came from the BI-Bachelor program, while the number of supervised theses from Computational Engineering increased significantly—from one to five.
In 2024, the number of supervised bachelor's theses was significantly increased, allowing students to benefit from the PBU's offerings early in their studies.
Overall, 50% of the supervised students were women.
Additional services offered by the PBU include workshops on academic writing, support for international students, and virtual supervision when needed.
I would also like to highlight the successful cooperation between the PBU and the Sustainability Office (NHB), the Center for Environmental Resource Management (ZUM), BreakING, the "Schreibmaschine" writing support service, and the RUB team for school–university transition (FWJ participants).
We look forward to seeing many more students take advantage of the PBU and benefit from its services."
Further information on the PBU's services and contact persons can be found on the Project Office's website.
The 2024 annual report on the PBU’s activities can be accessed here.
