The chairs for Mechanics – Materials Theory and Continuum Mechanics coordinated the third edition of the format this year together with junior research groups from other cities.
On October 10, the GAMM Student Chapter Science Slam took place at the RUB. The event was organized by the Chairs of Mechanics – Materials Theory and Continuum Mechanics together with the GAMM junior research groups from Hamburg, Hanover, and Braunschweig. For the first time, young researchers from Duisburg-Essen also took part. A total of 35 participants, including master's students, doctoral candidates, and postdocs, took part.
After lunch together in the RUB cafeteria, Dr. Antonio Bräunche and Dr. Felix Wagner (himself an RUB alumnus) from BGC opened the program with an industry lecture on generative AI in research and business. This was followed by ten presentations in the so-called Contributed Sessions, in which participants were able to exchange ideas about their research work in the fields of mathematics and mechanics in an informal atmosphere. The event concluded with a joint dinner at the Uni-Center.
