On Tuesday 22 September 2026, the BreakING team invites you to the next fireside evening in the bentonite laboratory of the Chair of Tunnel Engineering, Pipeline Engineering and Construction Operations. This time’s guest speaker is Dr.-Ing. Janine Pfetzing-Micklich.

The fireside evening brings together participants in the BreakING programme, former mentees and mentors, female engineers, students and other guests with an interest in women’s networks. On 22 September 2026, the BreakING team will welcome Dr Janine Pfetzing-Micklich. She was the first woman in her family to attain a university degree, completed her PhD at the RUB in 2009 and is now Scientific Manager at the ZGH ‘Centre for Interface-Dominated High Performance Materials’. 

The event offers an excellent opportunity to network and learn from inspiring individuals. Anyone interested is warmly invited!
